The invention relates to a security marker comprising a nucleic acid molecule, said nucleic acid molecule comprising: (i) a first primer region substantially identical to a first primer; and linked to the first primer region, (ii) a marker region comprising a predetermined nucleic acid sequence capable of identifying the source of the security marker; and (iii) a region which is substantially the reverse complement of a second primer and capable of being bound by this primer. Methods of using such security markers and security kits containing the markers are enclosed. |
