N-Methylol derivates of polycondensates based on ureas and polyamines

N-methylol derivs. (I) of polycondensates with quat. N atoms of (a) basic ureas of formula (II), (b) polyamines of formula (III) and (c) bifunctional alkylating agents (IV) are new: HN(R1)-CO-N(R2)-X1-N(R3)(R4) (II); (R6)(R7)N-X2-N(R8,R9) (III); X1 = 2-4C alkylene; R1, R2 = H or 1-4C alkyl; or R1 + R2 = ethylene-1,2 or trimethylene; R3, R4 = H, 1-4C alkyl or 2-4C hydroxyalkyl and R3 may also = -X1-N(R2)-CO-NHR1; or R3 + R4 = -CH2CH2-O-CH2CH2- or -CH2CH2-N(R5)-CH2CH2- (R5 = H, 1-4C alkyl, 2-4C hydroxyalkyl, -X1-N(R2)-CO-NHR1 or -CO-NH2); X2 = 2-6C alkylene, opt. with -O-, -NR10- or -NH-CO-NH in the chain (R10 = H or 1-4C alkyl); R6, R7, R8, R9 = H, 1-4C alkyl or 2-4C aminoalkyl; or R6 + R7 and/or R8 + R9 or R6 + R8 and/or R7 + R9 = ethylene,1-2 or trimethylene.
