<p>Abrasive finishing bodies are made by compressing, pref. at =7 kg/cm2, a bauxite powder of dia. pref. 3-20 mu and opt. a binder chosen from PVA, clay, water and mixtures of these. The formed bodies, pref. of coniform shape are sintered at 1593-1704 degrees C., and have good resistance to wear. Used for finishing e.g. metal or plastic articles.</p> |
