<p>The appliance case incorporates at each bottom corner (102) a socket, on a vertical axis, into which is screwed the threaded stem, ending in a circular foot (22). Optionally, the foot is fitted with a roller for easy horizontal positioning. The corner is raised or lowered by rotating the stem one way or the other; this is effected by turning a worm gear (4), on a horizontal axis, using a detachable operating rod (3) inserted in its end socket. The gear meshes with a toothed ring (5), passed over the stem above the foot, whose rotation is transmitted to the stem by two inward facing cogs, free to move axially along diametrically opposed grooves machined axially in the stem's threaded surface. The rod end cross-section conforms to that, e.g. square or hexagonal, of the worm gear end socket, which has a flared entry to facilitate rod engagement. Rod length allows the rear feet to be adjusted from the appliance front. The worm gear is inserted through a side aperture (A), displacing a resilient retaining flap, to fit between two end stops (105), where it is supported by a part-cylindrical backing plate (104).</p> |
