The movement end stop for a motor vehicle hood or door has a support plate (4) with a flat abutment washer (4a) on the bodywork (6) around an opening (7) and a tubular lug (4b,c) receiving a stud (5). The stud has a contact head (9), a threaded section to engage the lug and a smooth section to extends through and out of the end of the lug. A cover (2) encloses the stud and is clipped into place.
