Stable gel of polyvinyl chloride and reacti - ve plasticiser

Gel which can be shaped by pressure at 120 - 200 degrees C consists of mixture of (1) particles in wt. ratio of 1 : 3 to 2 : 1, coarse - fine, (fine = 0.05 to 30 mu, coarse = greater than 30 mu) of homopolymeric polyvinyl chloride containing >=96% by wt. of polymerised vinyl chloride, and (2) reactive liquid plasticiser of a low m.wt. reaction ester products of alpha, beta-unsatd. monocarboxylic acid with an aliphatic polyhydric alcohol of m.wt. 600, in an amount up to 35% by wt. of mixture, and in admixture with the mixture, (3) free-radical generating polymerisation catalyst to cure the gel to the rigid state by application of pressure and heat.
