Systems and methods for providing remote access to a service profile associated with a home telephony device. The systems and methods are used to identify a service profile using a remote telephony device, retrieve the service profile, and temporarily associate the service profile with the remote telephony device, whereby the remote telephony device can provide service functions identified in the service profile associated with the home telephony device. The service functions identified in the service profile can include three-way calling and speed-dialing, and can allow calling rates associated with the home telephony device to be used for calls placed from the remote telephony device. An identifier can be used to authenticate a right of access to the service profile. In addition, a telephone network central office associated with the home telephony device can receive user input data identifying a third telephony device from the remote telephony device, and control the connection of the remote telephony device to the third telephony device; any toll associated with the connection of the remote telephony device to the third telephony device can be charged to an account associated with the home telephony device. |
