PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently use a plurality of liquid sensors to detect a level position. SOLUTION: Ink is stored in an ink cartridge 800. Liquid sensors 802-806 are provided with piezoelectric elements respectively, and detect whether the level surface passes through the liquid sensor or not on the basis of the vibration. A change of sound impedance accompanying ink consumption is used preferably. IN the first place, the liquid sensor 802 is used, and according to the progress of ink consumption, the liquid sensor to be used for detection is switched in the level lowering direction, that is, downward. A detection frequency is desirably increased when the detection position is lowered. On the basis of the detection result, an ink jet recording device is controlled preferably. |
