PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for resolution inspection that can inspect the resolution of an image pickup device without using a resolution inspection exclusive device. SOLUTION: A 2nd recording means 12 for exclusively inspecting the resolution is provided to the image pickup device 1, and when an external device 20 enters a resolution inspection exclusive recording instruction 21a through a communication means 11, a segmentation section 15 segments digital data of a luminance component of a line designated by the instruction from a digital video data 5a and records it to the 2nd recording means 12. When receiving a resolution inspection exclusive reproduction instruction 21b from the external device 20, digital data 12a of a luminance component are read from the 2nd recording means 12 and transmitted to the external device 20. The external device 20 discriminates the acceptance/rejection of the resolution from the received digital data 12a of the luminance component. |
