PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water leakage monitor capable of finding the occurrence of water leakage at an early stage. SOLUTION: This water leakage monitor is provided with a pointer monitoring unit 2 disposed in a meter box 1, a water leakage monitor disposed indoors, and a wire 24 for connecting the pointer monitoring unit 2 to the water leakage monitor. A base 21 with an LED 22 and a phototransistor 23 positioned in such a manner that a reflecting part of an optical axis comes to a certain point on a rotating track of a pointer 16, is fitted to the back side of a cover 15 of a water meter 11, and the water leakage monitor detects water leakage from the motion of the pointer 16.
