PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sure and appropriate self-defense tool, which aims at damping attacking will of a wild fellow. SOLUTION: In this tool for self-defense, a ropelike material is wound round on a core rod to form a grip 10, a loop 14 is formed at the tip end thereof, ropelike materials are each passed through the loop 14 and tied thereto to form flick ropes 20 which is capable of flicking out, and a flick rope controller 30 is formed by twining to loops of each flick rope for controlling respective flick ranges of the flick ropes.
