PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water cut-off method for a pipe end cross section of a composite pipe preventing water from reaching a pipe end face when blocking a pipe end or connecting composite pipes with cross sections comprising a plurality of layers by usage of joints for providing a long pipe line. SOLUTION: In the joint used in this water cut-off method for the pipe end cross section, a collar part facing outward is provided on one end of a short straight pipe like member body with an outer diameter smaller and substantially the same as an inner diameter of the composite pipe, another pipe end of the one end provided with the collar part of the member is inserted into a pipe end of the composite pipe, a face of the collar part on a member body side is abutted to a pipe end face of the composite pipe, a water cut-off material is provided on an abutting face of the collar part and the pipe end face of the composite pipe, and a mechanism is provided pressing the member against the pipe end of the composite pipe.
