PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide rare earth magnet powder which is thermally treated in high temperature hydrogen and has high anisotropy. SOLUTION: This anisotropy magnet powder is composed of rare earth elements (called as R in the following) which is thermally treated in high temperature hydrogen and contains yttrium (Y) whose anisotropy (Br/Bs, where Bs is 1.6 T (16 kG)) is at least 0.70, boron (B), unavoidable impurities and residue RFeB based alloy composed of iron(Fe). The RFeB based alloy is reacted with hydrogen at a relative reaction rate of 0.25-0.50 where a reaction rate is specified as 1 when a reaction temperature is 830 deg.C and hydrogen gas pressure is 0.1 MPa (1 atm). As a result, magnet powder having high anisotropy is obtained. |
