摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a superplastic ceramic having characteristics of <=1,500 deg.C expected temperature for deformation in practical use, >=10-2 s-1 rate of strain, and >=150% elongation, and further to decrease the temperature required for plastic working of the superplastic ceramic, and to reduce the time required for processing to improve the processing efficiency. SOLUTION: Magnesium oxide of 0.5 mol% and titanium oxide of 4-7 mol% are added to a partially stabilized zirconia containing 3 mol% yttrium oxide, and the resultant product is sintered to provide the objective superplastic zirconia-based sintered compact. The sintered compact is subjected to a plastic working at 1,450-1,350 deg.C.
