PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate storage and transfer of an outboard engine by retaining it in a more stable storage attitude where it lies on its side after it is removed from the hull and placed on a horizontal rest surface in the storage attitude, and prevent lubricating oil inside the internal combustion engine from wetting the spark plug and from leaking out when the outboard engine is placed in the storage attitude. SOLUTION: When an outboard engine 5 is removed from a hull 3 and is placed on a horizontal rest surface 36 in a storage attitude where it lies on its side with a cylinder 26 projecting up from a crankcase 23, places 40 and 41 on the lower surface of an opposite end 10 of a case 7 of the outboard engine 5, and such places 42 on the lower surface of a cowling 17 as are paired up on the right and left sides of an imaginary vertical plane 31 passing the places 40 and 41 and extending along the longitudinal axis of the case 7 are all placed in contact with the rest surface 36. |
