PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera for exposing an electronically picked up image on a silver salt roll film, and capable of increasing the degree of freedom in terms of a print size and attaining reduction in the cost of extra prints. SOLUTION: An image pickup signal outputted from a CCD 37 is converted to image data through a prescribed signal processing, and then, stored in a main memory 44 or an external memory 58. The line head 68 of an optical printer is controlled by a CPU 32 so as to be driven based on the inputted image data, then, the image is exposed on a photographic film 63. As for a panoramic image in the longitudinal direction of the photographic film 63, the image is recorded by the optional length. Besides, additional information such as the photographing date and photographing conditions, etc., are recorded in an area between the frames of the photographic film 63. In this case, a distance between the frames is changed in accordance with the amount of the written additional information. The remaining film length of the photographic film 63 is confirmed by the CPU 32 of the camera, and when the remaining film length is shorter than the prescribed length, a film rewinding is controlled by the CPU 32.
