PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent(EL) display device of a long life and its manufacturing method to enable to remove the effects of atmospheric moisture and oxygen or the like as possible, to reduce deterioration with the passage of time, and to preserve the initial performance for a long time by improving the inferior sealing. SOLUTION: An organic EL display device is installed with electrodes 2 and partition walls 3 on a substrate 1, luminescent medium 4 and opposed electrodes 5 patterned with the partition walls, a conversion layer 6 covering at least the side face of the partition walls, luminescent medium 4 and the opposed electrodes to convert the shape of the cross section of the partition walls from the inverted taper to normal taper, and a sealing layer 7 covering the partition walls, the luminescent medium and the opposed electrodes.
