<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filler for ion chromatography eliminating the diffusion of ions to be treated into the packing material substantially and reducing the lowering of separation capacity caused by the diffusion of ions to be treated into the packing material and the migration between ion exchange groups of ions to be treated to realize high resolution ion chromatography. SOLUTION: The filler for ion chromatography is constituted by providing a monomolecular or bimorecular membrane, which is formed by arranging amphiphatic chain organic molecules each having an ion exchange group at least one end thereof and a hydrophobic part at the part other than the ion exchange group thereof by the hydrophobic interaction due to the hydrophobic parts, on a substrate as the uppermost layer. As the substrate, a general-purpose ion exchange resin is especially prefarable. As the amphiphatic chain organic molecule, one containing an azobenzene structure is especially preferable.</p> |
