PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set the reproduction rate of a disk for detecting eccentricity, mass eccentricity and surface wobbling of the disk respectively. SOLUTION: The eccentricity of a disk is detected in steps S1-S3, and then the surface wobbling of the disk is detected, if the 48-fold reproduction of the disk is possible. If the 48-fold reproduction is impossible, a 32-fold reproduction rate is set. The surface wobbling of the disk is detected in steps S4-S6 and then the deviation of centroid of the disk is detected, if the 48-fold reproduction is possible. If the 48-fold reproduction is impossible, the 32-fold reproducion rate is set. Then the mass eccentricity of the disk is detected in steps S7-S9, and a 48-fold reproduction rate is set, if it is possible. When the 48-fold reproduction is impossible, a 32-fold reproduction rate is set.
