PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reinforce an instruction set architecture for a vectorized processing instruction, and to improve the minute architecture of a processor based on an instruction set architecture in a vectorized data processing region. SOLUTION: In a method for a vectorized data operation, the bits of pack data consisting of M pieces of N bit elements are shifted by using a bit level shift step and a byte level shift step following the step. Then, a mask is generated, and applied to an intermediate shift result, and the final result is generated. In this method for shifting the package data, the data are transferred with a condition from one general register to another general register, and based on data in still another general register.
