PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding door device that can be assembled to a normal partition panel. SOLUTION: One stanchion out of mutually adjacent stanchions is made a door stop stanchion 2, and the other stanchion is made a pair of longitudinally opposed intermediate stanchions 3. A sliding door 9 suspended and supported to guide rails to move crosswise is fitted to a doorway formed between both stanchions 2, 3 so as to be housed, when opened, in a door pocket formed between front and rear panels 5 on the right side of the intermediate stanchions 3.
