PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solenoid valve of simple and small structure and improved in lessening the power consumption required to make valve changing-over and also the heat emission of the electromagnetic driving part. SOLUTION: A valve housing 11 is furnished with a first valve chest 12 and second valve chest 13, a first input/output port 14 in communication to the first valve chest, a second 15 and a third input/output port 16 in communication to the second valve chest 13, and a valve port 15 to put the first valve chest 12 in communication with the second valve chest 13. The arrangement further includes a first valve element to open and close the valve port with its movement in the valve lift direction and a working rod 26 installed in the valve housing 11 and connected to the first valve element 22 in such a way as movable in the valve lift direction, and the rod 26 is furnished with a second value element 28 of slide valve type which opens and closes third input/output port 29 with its movement in the valve lift direction. The valve housing 11 is furnished with an electromagneic driving means 33 to drive the rod 11 in steps in the valve lift direction.
