PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of the occurrence of an outside dia. dimensional abnormality when a ferrule for an optical connector is to be injection-molded with a plastic. SOLUTION: This injection molding die has a cavity 28 formed in such a shape as to correspond to a ferrule for an optical connector. In addition, the die is configured with a piece 29 for molding a fitting face by which the fitting face of the ferrule is molded, a piece 30 for molding a stepped face by which a small dia. stepped face formed on one of the end sides of the fitting face is molded, a piece 32 for molding an end face by which the end face the tip of an optical fiber looks out on is molded, a piece 31 for molding a tapered face by which the tapered face continuously extending to the stepped face, tapering off toward the end face, a molding pin 34 for an insertion hole by which an insertion hole for a strand is formed in the piece 32 for molding the end face so as to protrude into the cavity 28, allowing insertion of an optical fiber strand, a pin catcher 43 which protrudes into the cavity 28 and molds a core strand guide hole through which can optical fiber core strand is run and a pin retaining hole 44 which is formed at the tip part of the pin catcher 43 and retains the tip part of the molding pin 34 in a freely drawing/removing manner.
