PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a spherical ceramic sintered compact having few defects, producible in a high efficiency and to provide a method for producing the spherical ceramic sintered compact. SOLUTION: Ground powder 10k for formation is solidified into a spherical state in a granulation container 132 by a rolling granulation method to give a spherical formed body. The formed body is sintered to give a spherical ceramic sintered compact. In the rolling granulation formation process, the maximum load applied to the spherical formed body in the middle of the formation is >=500 g/cm2. Consequently deformation by ununiform shrinkage of the sintered compact and incidence of defective sintered compact by crack and chip can be reduced. When an inner volume of the granulation container 132 is V0 and the total volume of the ground powder 10k for formation and the spherical formed body in the middle of the formation is V1, preferably the formula (V1/V0)×100(%) is 5-40%. |
