PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a fiberboard capable of manufacturing a fiberboard having excellent water resistance and moisture resistance out of waste paper as a main raw material, and the fiberboard having the excellent water resistance and moisture resistance and manufactured by the method. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the fiberboard comprises the steps of coating the surface of a board body 1 formed by heating and pressing the board raw material obtained by adding a binder to a waste paper opened material formed in a fiber-like state by opening the raw material containing waste paper as a main component, with an isocyanate resin containing no solvent, heating it at 80 deg.C or higher, and thereby forming a water resistant resin layer 2 on the surface of the body.
