PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet type image forming apparatus preventing the floating of a recording medium caused by a cocking or a winding habit (curl), generating no noise and not lowering an image grade. SOLUTION: Projected surfaces 64 and recessed surfaces 66 are alternately formed to a platen 62 and an edge part 64a higher than the projected surfaces 64 is formed to the part on the upstream side of a feed direction of the platen 62. Further, the positions of first and second holding parts 52, 78 are made lower than the projected surfaces.
