SOLUTION: This safety device is of such a construction that a detection part (a first detection part) 2 which detects the opening of a safety door D and outputs a detection signal Sd is connected to an overtravel terminal 5c in a servo circuit unit 5 which drives under control a servo motor 4 for moving a movable platen 3 to support a movable mold Cm. In addition, the device is equipped with the safety circuit (a first safety circuit) 6 which inhibits the movement of the movable platen 3 in the mold closing direction Fc when the detection signal Sd is entered to the overtravel terminal 5c.
