PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably supply a dechlorinating component in an amount necessary and sufficient to deactivate an effective chlorine component repeatedly over a long period of time in performing the dechlorination of bathing water. SOLUTION: A dechlorinating agent comprises a molded article containing at least one compound selected from ascorbic acid, an ascorbic acid salt, an ascorbic acid derivative and a sulfite and at least one compound selected from fatty acids with a melting point of 50 deg.C or higher, benzoic acid, salicylic acid, toluic acid and cinnamic acid.
