<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form satisfactory light incident and exit end faces, which are free of chipping and edge drooping by polishing at an optical waveguide element having an optical waveguide layer, consisting of Pb1-xLax(ZryTi1-y)1-x/4O3, having a high optoelectric coefficient. SOLUTION: This laminate, including the optical waveguide consisting of the Pb1-xLax(ZryTi1-y)1-x/4O3 (0<x<0.3, 0<y<1.0) and a protective substrate are fixed by the adhesive and are polished integrally in this state under polishing pressure of 100 or higher to 350 or lower kPa, so that the light incident and exit end faces are formed.</p> |
