PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition having hepar adiposum depression action and taken out of malted barley, and to provided a method for producing the same composition. SOLUTION: The composition having hepar adiposum depression action is composed of an ethanol insoluble fraction comprising organic acids, proteins and hemicellulose and the ethanol insoluble fraction is taken out as follows: mold fungi belonging to Aspergillus are cultivated in scoured barley not contained barley bran and/or a crushed product of scoured barley to obtain malted barley; the malted barley is mixed with an alkali to take out an alkali soluble fraction; the alkali soluble fraction is neutralized with an acid to obtain a neutral soluble fraction; and the neutral soluble fraction is mixed with ethanol to take out the ethanol insoluble fraction.
