PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter unit for an ink-jet printer capable of preferably providing an ink to a printing head by eliminating air bubbles, which tend to be accumulated on the upstream side of a filter element. SOLUTION: A filter unit for a vertical type ink-jet printer comprises a housing 10 having an ink introduction part 11 and an ink ejection part 12, a filter element 13 disposed in the housing, tapered toward the ink ejection part 12 direction, and a discharge pipe 15, so as to scavenge by the filter element the unnecessary substance contained in the ink passing through the housing. An opening 17 of the discharge pipe 15 provided on the upstream side of the filter unit in the housing guides the bubbles scavenged on the upstream side of the filter element into the discharge pipe so as to be discharged to the outside. |
