PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the selection of a virtual space in a conversation system. SOLUTION: A category DB 22 in which URLs and the categories of the URLs are stored is prepared. A URL uttered in a channel, the category, and the channel are written in a URL table. The totality of the categories of the URL uttered in the channel is defined as the characteristics of the channel. The characteristics of the channel are displayed in a window on an IRC client. It is preferable to increase the weight of the URL based on the contents of conversation because the channel characteristics reflect the contents of conversation more precisely at the time of calculating the total sum of the categories of the URL. For example, it is possible to increase the weight of the URL uttered by a user who stays in a room for a long time or a user who actively speaks out. Also, it is possible to increase the weight of the URL whose conversation is made active after the utterance of the URL.
