PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a molded artificial stone and/or an artificial slate having enough fundamental properties, good designability, and a high grade feel with production costs controlled. SOLUTION: The method for producing the molded artificial stone and/or the artificial slate includes a kneading process in which a matrix material containing a matrix resin and a filler and natural stone particles are charged in a kneader to obtain a composition for the artificial stone, and a molding process in which the composition is charged in a mold and molded. The surface of the mold has Vickers hardness of at least 900.
