PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piece of socks giving the wearer no incompatible feeling or causing no pain when worn and also hard to get torn, wherein the sewn portion thereof does not come out of a piece of shoes. SOLUTION: This piece of socks has the following structure: a highly shrinkable part 4 formed on a sole side 3 in the vicinity of an opening part 2 at one end of a cylindrically knitted body 1 wherein the above-mentioned opening part 2 is positioned on the sole side 3 of a toe part 5 and also made by sewing it up in the longitudinal direction of the sole.
