MOISTURE-ABSORBING AND RELEASING FIBER, ITS PRODUCTION AND MIX-SPUN FIBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moisture-absorbing and releasing fiber excellent in moisture-absorbing and releasing property and knot elongation, suitable for spinning and mix spinning and having a small fineness, its method of production and a spun fiber by using the same fiber. SOLUTION: This moisture-absorbing and releasing fiber having 1-2 denier fineness, >=8% knot elongation and >=20 wt.% moisture absorption at 20 deg.C and 60% relative humidity, is obtained by introducing a cross-linking structure into an acrylic fiber having 0.4-1.5 denier fineness by using hydrazine and sodium carbonate and then hydrolyzing.
