PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively remove impurities residing in the interior and the like of a hollow fiber membrane filter with the help of an appropriate chemical. SOLUTION: The filtration device incorporates a hollow fiber membrane filter 2 in a filter 1, to which an inlet pipe 3 for supplying a stock solution and an outlet pipe 4 for sending filtered water to the outside of the system are connected. A chemical reaction tank 5 is provided which has a means to inject a chemical for dissolving the impurities and stir the chemical, and further, is equipped with a chemical tank 6 for storing the chemical. The impurities are dissolved by using the chemical adjusted to the nature of the stock solution and an increase in the filter differential pressure of the filtration device is controlled.
