PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform optical intensity modulation capable of obtaining a sufficient S/N in an optical transmission line and to compensate distortion components generated at the time. SOLUTION: Signals are transmitted by performing the optical intensity modulation capable of obtaining the sufficient S/N in a main route from a main electric/optic converter 10 to a main amplifier 5 and the signals are transmitted by performing the optical intensity modulation for not generating ternary distortion in an auxiliary route from an auxiliary electric/optic converter 11 to an auxiliary optic/electric converter 15. In an auxiliary amplifier 7, the difference of both routes is taken and only the distortion components E8(t) generated in the main route are extracted. In a synthesizer 8, by canceling the distortion components in the signals via the main route by the distortion components, the signals E9(t) of small distortion components and a large S/N are extracted. |
