PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the efficiency of garbage decomposition by preventing the adhesion of biochips to the side of a treatment tank the side of which is protected from damage even when a rotary shaft is rotated reversely. SOLUTION: In a garbage treatment apparatus having agitation blades rotated by a driving means, a clockwise spiral agitation blade 2a on one side is arranged from one end side of the rotary shaft 1 toward the center of the treatment tank 4. A bar for agitating the neighbourhood of one side of the tank 4 is installed in a blade 2a part or in the neighbourhood of the blade 2a facing one side of the tank 4 in the axial direction of the shaft 1. A bar for agitating the neighbourhood of the other side of the tank 4 is installed in a counterclockwise spiral agitation blade 2b part or in the neighbourhood of the blade 2b facing the other side of the tank 4.
