PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the subject method enabling the beautiful luster of tinsels to be maintained without discoloration even if a dye is used at high concentrations and causing no cost increase thereby, and to provide the other subject arrangement for the method. SOLUTION: This method for dyeing a tinsel comprises the following steps: 1st step wherein a dye is made to adhere to a tinsel 20 in travel; 2nd step wherein the tinsel 20 in travel after the 1st step is passed under reciprocating travel through the steam atmosphere in a steamer 3; 3rd step wherein the resultant tinsel 20 is subjected to soaping; and 4th step wherein the resultant tinsel is subjected to steaming again.
