PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the interest of a game by using temperature and voltage detected for correctly displaying colors on a liquid crystal display. SOLUTION: A temperature detecting circuit 5 and a voltage detecting circuit 6 are connected to a CPU 10 of a portable game machine 1. The temperature detecting circuit 5 detects the operating temperature of a liquid crystal display 4, and the voltage detecting circuit 6 detects the power supply voltage of the liquid crystal display 4. The CPU 10 determines the driving voltage of the liquid crystal display 4 based on the detected temperature and voltage according to a program stored in an built-in ROM 13, and selects at least one character data from a plurality of previously prepared character data to be written in a display RAM 11. The detected temperature and voltage are made to correspond to the operation of the character and the age. Thus, even if the liquid crystal display 4 is an electric field control double refraction system, a correct color is displayed and the character selected according to the temperature and voltage is displayed on the liquid crystal display 4. |
