PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mass-producible artificial limestone for a trim tile having complicate form or a floor material enabling the outdoor use and floor use in contrast with conventional product by using a waste material of soft stone such as limestone usually disposed by land disposal. SOLUTION: Crushed limestone powder having controlled particle size, white cement and composite aggregate are kneaded with water containing a cationic acrylic resin (ES-33, product of Chuo-Rika Co.) at a solid concentration of 9%, formed in a mold, cured and impregnated or coated with a copolymer (ET-19, product of Chuo-Rika Co.) produced by the copolymerization of a highly reactive silica and a specific acrylic resin to convert the scientifically unstable calcium hydroxide into calcium silicate to prevent the deterioration of the material in the open air. The voids of the artificial stone are filled with the acrylic resin by this process to increase the hardness and suppress the water-absorption.
