IMAGING MEMBER HAVING DEPENDENCE ON POLARIZED LIGHT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reflector with dependence on polarized light having an optical ability (curved state) which reflects certain polarized light and transmits polarized light with the polarization plane being perpendicular to that of the transmitted polarized light. SOLUTION: An optical member consists of a transparent support body 12 having a curved face and a thin film 13 having dependence on polarized light applied on the curved face. The thin film 13, having dependence in polarized light transmits linearly polarized light consisting of certain polarized light and reflects linearly polarized light consisting of polarized light having a polarization plane perpendicular to that of the transmitted polarized light. This member is produced by applying a transparent adhesive on the layer of the thin film 13 or on the curved face. The support body 12 and the thin film 13 are heated to a temperature higher than the temperature at which the thin film 13 is deformed. The support body 12 and the thin film 13 are pressed together to deform the layer of the thin film 13 to follow the curved face.
