PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording sheet having excellent ink absorbability, clear printability almost without stain, excellent fading resistivity, excellent smoothness and glossiness of recording sheet surface and a lower cost than that using a silica. SOLUTION: A receiving layer containing a light calcium carbonate having a specific surface area of 50 to 130 m2/g of 50 wt.% or more and a synthetic silica of less than 50 wt.% in a pigment and a cationic agent having an aluminum group as well as a binder of 5 to 50 wt.% to 100 pts.wt. of the pigment is formed on at least one surface of base paper. |
