PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make energy saving and cost reduction compatible by improving the structure of the lid in an electric hot water storage container. SOLUTION: A team passage 39 is formed of a passage extending nearly linearly from a steam inlet 44 located at the inside of a lid 2 to a steam outlet 46 located at the outside, and a shut-off valve 40 to prevent hot water from leaking out from the container 3 at a time when the container body 1 falls down is provided in a halfway point of the passage. The structure makes the steam passage 39 and the shut-off valve 40 provided in the passage to be arranged concentratedly and nearly linearly in a partial area of the lid 2 in the plane direction, allows the structure of the steam passage 39 to be simplified, and reduces the manufacturing cost. The area occupied by the steam passage 39 in the lid 2 is decreased as much as possible, and installation of a variety of functional members in the lid 2 becomes possible, and the degree of freedom of designing is increased.
