PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an earth-retaining method for embedding underground pipes or the like in a deep, long ditch with which noise and vibration from the work can be eliminated, the execution of the work can be carried out extremely safely and further the work can be completed in a short period of time and efficiently at a low cost, as well as sheet pile wall retaining towers used for the method. SOLUTION: Inside a deep, long ditch 1 for embedding pipes, sheet pile wall retaining towers 2A.2B... comprising inverted-U-shaped concrete block bodies as tower element bodies 10, which can be stacked and combined together, are erected and arranged to the form of bridge piers, sheet pile stiles 3 are set to the bridge piers in a multi- stage shape, and sheet pile wall retaining frame bodies 7 are erected and built, thereafter, the sheet piles 8 are inserted from the above to a space between the outer side of the sheet pile 3 and an earth wall 6 of the deep, long ditch and the sheet pile wall 9 is erected and set in this earth-retaining method in addition to the sheet pile wall retaining towers 2 made by the tower element bodies 10 collected and united as the features of this method and the towers in the configuration.
