In a demodulator for amplitude-modulated pulses, a gating circuit comprising a diode in series with the emitter-collector path of a transistor is connected between the signal input and a storage capacitor and means connected to the base of the transistor render it conductive at predetermined time intervals. Similarly, if the capacitor is charged to a lower potential than the signal voltage it will receive a charge until the two potentials are equalized. The potential across the capacitor CS is supplied via a high input impedance amplifier T3, T4 to a low-pass filter (not shown). A field effect transistor or thermionic valve may replace amplifier T3, T4.
