<p>Pure styrene oxide (I), suitable for the prodn. of beta-phenylethanol is produced by treating (I) contg. benzo-aldehyde, e.g. as obtained from the oxidn. of styrene or cumene, with aqs. NH2OH or N2H4, separating the aqs. phase, and isolating (I) by distillation.</p> |
