The releasable catch device for fixing the receiver unit (2) into a position inside or beneath the table (1) automatically fixes it into positions where a change of pivot axis will create room. A receiver unit position sensor cooperates with the catch so that movement of the unit between its different fixed positions follows a pre-determined, controllable pattern or scheme. The sensor is connected to a display or another indicator for the operative, in order to display one or more possible alternatives for subsequent receiver unit movement. The receiver unit can be moved in the table length direction (x-direction) and cooperates with a radiation source which can be moved in the table cross-direction (y-direction) and vertical direction (z-direction), and also pivoted about a horizontal axis. The receiver unit can be pivoted about a vertical axis and a horizontal axis between a position inside or beneath the table for a vertical radiation path, and a position to the side of and parallel to the table for a horizontal radiation path. The receiver unit is pivotally mounted on arms which are interconnected, preferably via a link, so that the unit can be swung out into positions on either side of the table. The receiver unit is secured to one of the arms via a horizontal hinge, enabling it to be swung into a position parallel to table. |
