<p>The present invention is directed to a method and an apparatus for closing a packing tube (1) around an essentially cylindrical packaged product (2), in particular a tampon for female hygiene, in which method the packing tube (2) which is made of a flexible packing film is arranged in tube shape around the packing product so that an open packing tube portion (3) is projecting beyond a free forward end of the packaged product. Then, a front portion of the packing film of the open forward projecting packing tube portion (3) is pressed together and joined by clamping jaws (10, 10') to form a first film sheet portion (6, 8), and the joined first film sheet portion (6, 8) is folded onto the packing tube (1) around the forward end of the packaged product and is joined therewith.</p> |
