The invention concerns an apparatus dispensing tickets from a continuous paper strip (1), each formed by an end section of said strip designed to be seized by the recipient of the ticket and detached by being pulled at said end, comprising a mechanism for pinching the paper along a transverse line (3) of the strip (1), and, downstream of said mechanism, a cutting blade (4) substantially transverse to the strip on the cutting edge (5) whereon the strip is supported when said end is pulled. The invention is characterised in that the cutting edge (5) of the blade is formed by a segment of a straight line intersecting the plane of the paper strip (1) in contact with the blade (4) before it is cut, containing the pinching line (3) and the projection of which converges towards the pinching line (3) when the paper comes into contact with the paper on the blade (4).
